7月1日から7月10日にかけて、ノースイースタン大学（マサチューセッツ州ボストン）と東北大学が毎年共同で開講している「震災と復興」に法学部学生8名も参加しました。
ダニエル・P・アルドリッチ教授、戸澤英典教授、カルロス・ザヴァルセ助教の指導の下、両大学の学生は、講義に加えて、陸前高田市、女川町、石巻市、福島第一原発、名取市閖上地区など、東日本大震災の被災地への現地視察を含む様々な活動に参加しました。その中で、学生たちは、この分野をリードする学者、地方自治体の職員、NPO、市民社会や民間企業の方々から貴重な知見を得ることができました。
プログラム期間中、学生たちを温かく迎え入れてくださった多くの個人および団体、特に村上清教授、陸前高田市立博物館、サロンドロワイヤル、東日本大震災津波伝承館、陸前高田市役所、本学・文学研究科の高橋原教授、本学・災害科学国際研究所（IRIDeS）の御手洗潤教授とリズ・マリー教授、蒲鉾本舗高政、女川町観光協会、石巻市震災遺構門脇小学校、みやぎ東日本大震災津波伝承館、東京電力、閖上の記憶、創価学会など、皆さまに心より感謝申し上げます。
「震災と復興」は、ノースイースタン大学と東北大学の学生間の知識の交換や交流のための優れた場となり、多文化環境における相互理解と協力を促進しました。また、本プログラムは、理論的な知識と現場での経験を結びつけることで、学生たちの学術的・職業的な成長を支援しました。
最後に、この貴重なパートナーシップを実現してくださったアルドリッチ教授に感謝申し上げるとともに、今後もノースイースタン大学との協力を継続できることを楽しみにしております。「震災と復興」は知識の伝授と分野横断的な連携のための優れたプラットフォームとしての役割を果たしました。

From July 1 to July 10, students from the School of Law participated in the Disaster and Recovery Summer Intensive Program, co-organized annually by Northeastern University and Tohoku University.
Professor Daniel P. Aldrich, Professor Hidenori Tozawa, and Assistant Professor Carlos Zavarce led students from both universities through a variety of activities, including in-class sessions and field trips to areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, such as Rikuzentakata, Onagawa, Ishinomaki, Fukushima, and Natori.
Throughout the program, students gained valuable insights from local government officials, leading scholars in the field, NPOs, and representatives from civil society and the business sector.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the many individuals and organizations who generously hosted our students throughout the program, including Professor Kiyoshi Murakami, the Rikuzentakata City Museum, Salon de Royal, the Iwate Tsunami Memorial Museum, Rikuzentakata City Hall, Professor Hara Takahashi, IRIDeS, particularly Professors Jun Mitarai and Liz Maly, TAKAMASA & Co., Ltd., the Onagawa Tourist Association, the Ishinomaki City Kadonowaki Elementary School Ruins, the Miyagi Tsunami Memorial Museum, TEPCO, Mémoire de Yuriage, and Soka Gakkai.
The Disaster and Recovery Summer Intensive Program served as an excellent platform for knowledge exchange and cross-cultural learning between students from Northeastern University and Tohoku University, fostering mutual understanding and collaboration in a multicultural setting. The program also supported their academic and professional growth by bridging theoretical knowledge with field experience.
